Frequently Asked Questions

If you do not see your question, contact us and we will reply promptly.

Which level should I choose?

Beginner focuses on wheel fundamentals and hand-building basics. Intermediate emphasizes complex forms, trimming, and joining. Advanced and Masterclass expect confident forming and prioritize refinement, surface, and firing strategy. If unsure, start with Beginner or book Coaching for placement.

What is included in tuition?

Instruction, shared tools, a personal process log, and firing of assigned project pieces. Clay and specialty glazes are available for purchase if you prefer personal stock; otherwise studio-grade materials are provided during class sessions.

Do you offer online classes?

Yes. Live-streamed sessions with multi-angle demonstrations mirror the studio experience. Hybrid options pair online demos with in-studio practice. See the Online and Hybrid categories in the catalog.

How do firings work?

We batch kiln loads by cone and clay body. Typical turnaround is 10–14 days. Students label pieces with name and session code; fragile items may require extended schedules or special handling at additional cost.

What is your refund policy?

Full refund within 7 days of purchase if the class has not started. After the first session, we offer credit toward another course. Missed sessions are not refundable but can be made up during designated studio hours when available.

Are materials safe?

Our glazes are labeled with safety information and we enforce ventilation and PPE protocols. Food-contact safety depends on glaze/clay pairing and firing schedules; we provide guidance for functional ware.

Can I rent studio time?

Yes. Alumni and enrolled students can book supervised studio hours. Availability is limited to maintain a quiet environment.

How small are cohorts?

Most classes cap at eight students to protect depth of feedback and measured progress.

Do you provide certificates?

Graduates receive a portfolio review and a certificate of completion outlining competencies covered, suitable for applications or grant packets.
